Sanitary Hose Uses & Applications
Sanitary hose assemblies are primarily used in industrial processes that require the utmost cleanliness and hygiene, particularly in USDA and RDA-regulated environments. They are typically used in pharmaceutical and food processing applications.
Most sanitary hose is lined with chemical-resistant materials such as PTFE and silicone. A PFTE sanitary hose offers a higher level of chemical resistance than a silicone hose, although the latter provides greater gas permeability. Both types are also highly flexible, but PTFE hose normally requires the application of a higher amount of force for bending purposes. Additionally, silicone hose is usually lighter than the PTFE counterpart.
